Yup, told a guy to over to NH when he was buying a $20k tractor. Saved at least a grand in taxes.

Have a quick look at who Home Depot makes political donations to. Then think about whether you want to give them money.

Yeah I live in Waterford (right across the river from Littleton) I do all my shopping in Littleton, but mostly because they actually have more options than St Johnsbury. Their Co Op is really great

This is an absolute awful idea and most certainly not a hack. This is tax fraud.

Just Google tax nexus.

Cash really makes little difference. Maybe for a mom and pop shop.

Either way, you are just teeing yourself up for problems later.

The state knows people do this and are especially vigilant.

And btw.... Paying with CASH, more specifically in large quantities, i.e 20K for a tractor.... Probably sets off more alarm bells than anything.... 🤦‍♂️

Buying things like $100 of liqour or some groceries occasionally you wont get caught. There is legitimately no way they know unless you are getting like a car or a washing machine.

Personally I do actually declare nh purchases on my taxes at the end of the year when I need to. Because honestly its not worth the risk to me.

The credit card companies report it to the states the residents live in.

Nh has been sued by multiple states and is very much specifically targeted. You have to declare it at the end of the year.

Not that the state of Vermont cares but the options in New Hampshire (referring mainly to border towns here) are generally much more plentiful and less expensive, in addition to being sales tax free. But yes by all means Vermont here’s your cut
