Hi all! My peers and I are conducting a study at the University of Vermont about Vermonter's media habits. We are looking to see what media outlets Vermonters access.

Wherever you are, we would love to hear from you. Specifically trying to reach those in Southern Vermont, in or around the Bennington county area, as we are trying to grasp a true and diverse understanding of how Vermonters get their news!

Please use the link below to access our survey. It should only take 3 minutes to complete. We understand some of these questions ask about income or personal opinions, these are included to create a demographic base understanding, but you are not required to respond and have the ability to opt out of any question.

Thank you, we appreciate your participation!

Speaking for my grandparents in Bennington County, they get all their news via newspaper or satellite TV because there isn’t any cell service south of Shaftsbury and they’re 90. I’m not sure you’ll reach a lot of that population group on here.

That’s the overall consensus we’ve been getting. Thanks for your input!

If you want to get a "a true and diverse understanding of how Vermonters get their news! ", you have to learn about survey sampling first. Posting a link to a survey on reddit isn't going to get you anything representative or reliable.

Understandable! We are simply creating a mock media plan for a UVM class, the data we collect will not go into anything literal but is rather to be an example of what we WOULD do in reality!

Is this an attempt to corelate min wage support to news source. That question seemed out of place.

Sorry - we could have better clarified that. The media plan we are creating a mock of is for how we are going to promote a campaign both FOR and AGAINST the raise of minimum wage. That question was to see how geographic areas / other demographics correlate to minimum wage beliefs. The news source questions are simply from an out-of-stater who isn’t familiar with how people get in the know!

Will you post your poll results. I would be interested as my initial assumptions would have news source more closely track with income and age than geography but that is just my initial guess.
