What’s a good one? We also under packed with warm clothing so it’s been challenging as we’ve had to buy winter clothes here haha can’t imagine hiking up windy cold trails right now but we won’t be wusses and brave the cold for the amazing experience and views

Since you’re buying warmer clothes, I highly recommend getting some pairs of Darn Tough socks. They’re a VT staple and they are guaranteed to never wear out or they will replace them for free.

Some trails near Waterbury that I've heard good things about are Perry Hill and Stowe Pinnacle. There's also Camels Hump if you're up for something bigger, but it would definitely take more time, possibly be wet, and definitely chilly.

If you're feeling really brave, go down to Fosters after for a quick swim. Deep, clear pool in the river, always cold. In stowe, Across from the matterhorn on 108, Up Notchbrook road, .3 miles on the left behind the guardrail.

I fully disagree. I've seen plenty of days where that place was both overrun with people (68) and completely empty on a sunny/warm day. It's not a secret by any stretch

Mt. Philo has a very iconic VT view (lake champlain with the adirondacks in the background) and it’s a very short, easy hike.

Elmore mountain is a good 2-3 hour hike. The top had a fire tower you can climb to get a good view.

Hunger Mountain is closer to you, but might be a bit too much if you're under prepared
