Two votes for deer, and I'm not a hunter, but I've never seen dear scat like that, dear scat is always little round pellets, that definitely looks like bear scat to me

Herbivore scat changes with the season, as the nutrient load in the available foodstock changes. Spring and summer you'll see mostly smooth, healthy round pellets.

Deer. I always see remnants of food in bear scat.

how do you like the gloves ?
StankyBo OP t1_iua7e2a wrote
Pretty rad, unlined. Pointer finger still popped thru after 50 mid-sized trees over 2 years. I work them pretty hard, but I guess they last as long as any other leather glove. Could maybe use a second layer on the tips?

It's defeinitely Cervid (antler animals), but looks a bit bigger than common deer scat to me. Sick deer? Small moose?
Not a bear/other carnivore.
