Sorry the text didn’t go through.

The question is: this house is up for auction but there aren’t any pictures of the inside. Does anyone know anything about the house/neighborhood? Or who used to live in the house?

Address is 135 Harrington Avenue, Rutland, VT 05701

This is all easily available info if you know where to look and your even somewhat local. You obviously don’t know where to look and aren’t local.

Don’t come here and ask us to do your homework for an investment property.

And to your comment on me not being local, I will have you know that my family is 20th generation Vermonton. My people were both Native American and settlers. We were both poor white trash & farm owners & merchants. We were the owners & production.

But you! You sound like you’re at best 5th generation Vermonton you carpetbagger you.

They we’re. But you’re a lazy wannabe real estate investor.

If you’re so local why don’t you head over there and check it out? If you’re an actual investor why do you have absolutely no idea how to find this info? Because you’re not local, you’re lazy and you don’t know what you’re doing.

And yeah something about being 25 y/o and this being my first house I’m trying to buy does make me not really know what I’m doing.

But thanks for being such a jerk about a genuine question I had!!! I hope all contractors aren’t such jerks.

I’m literally the only bid on this house up for sale and am planning on putting all of my savings into it. But God forbid someone try to make a house nicer. Such a jerk.

Since you’re a 20th-gen Vermonter I don’t need to tell you this, but Vermonters are a helpful bunch provided you put in some work first — research the process of making this kind of purchase, research the areas you’re considering buying in, then come back with specific, informed questions. Something as basic as getting info from town offices is like, step one. Have you considered why no one else has put in bids in this house you can’t see the inside of? Are you going to fix it up yourself, or will you need a contractor? If so, do you know how to find an available contractor right now? (Cuz it ain’t easy.) Do you know how much building supplies and labor are? This is all stuff you need to know before you sink all your savings into a property.
