The problem is vermont doesn't build near enough housing. We have the largest average lot size in America. Condos in Chittenden County now cost $400,000.
There's no fixing this.

I agree. Had several experiences last year looking to buy our first home where we were outbid by cash offers and then the homes were the AirBnB’d.
Can’t compete with cash offers as a first time home buyer.

VT either builds until it's not VT anymore or stays exclusively wealthy. Both options suck. The new VT also sucks.

Banning air bnb and building is a start but I still don't see how any new housing isn't snapped up by the next person moving here from Jersey with more money than the locals.
