Iām a social worker, and I had a 12 yr old kid I was working with that day. I had the special glasses for him to wear, and got to see his face when he first looked up. His reaction was priceless.

I traveled to a campground in South Carolina to watch the one in 2017, made it a 2 week+ long road trip including stopping and visiting family along the route. So worth it!
Shoutout to Devil's Fork State park, great place.

Caught it too. The difference between even a teensy tiny sliver of sun peeking out and actual totality is wild.

I'm thinking of buying eclipse glasses in bulk now and then reselling them at twice the price next year.

I didn't have the glasses for the last one, so I made myself a pinhole eclipse viewer the night before. Everyone I was with wanted to try it out even though they had the glasses.

I would be willing to drive about two or three hours in any direction to try to find good weather if necessary. I saw the last one and it was worth traveling for.

The likelihood of being able to see the moon in April in VT is low, that's for sure.
