I don’t believe there is anything in the legislature regarding this issue. The legislature is mostly focused on housing… specifically the lack of it.

There was a recent program (not sure if the deadline has passed) that grants $10,000 to people who move into the state and work remotely.

It didnt matter if you were black, pakistani, yankee, gay, trans, polyamorous, jewish, sikh, female, short, tall, disabled, athletic, or red-haired.

In other words - Vermonters treat people as people. Move in, get involved locally, dont try and change the place to be like where you came from, treat others well, and mind your business - nothing else really matters.

If you're looking to move in and insist on legislative changes for your personal situation - yeah, that might fly in Montpelier, but it's not going to work "on the ground," whether you're a Connecticut Real Estate Mogul or a PETA activist or a Fundamentalist theocrat or a White Nationalist or a Progressive Hero or any other brand of Personal Agenda.

Good people are welcome here, and all sorts of people are welcomed regularly. End of story.

Legally not much if anything. A few statements of support here and there from town boards, etc.

The plan seems to be (for many issues) just banking on the idea that Vermont is Vermont and that's enough.

The Vermont Worker’s Relocation Incentive Program is still accepting applications and you can apply whether you intend to work remotely or you are offered a job located in Vermont. There are more applications in now though than there is money available so chances of actually getting your move covered is low.

The state? Nothing specific. However, there sure are a lot of LGTBQIA+ friendly spots pushing for even more welcoming locations. It’s not perfect. In fact, a trans woman was murdered up here not too long ago. However, the outpouring of support was massive.

What specifically are YOU looking to bring to Vermont? Are you just looking to be coddled? Or are you looking to bring value to the community you want to move to. Preferably bring your own house or you're welcome to a pod behind the Burlington Post Office and halfway house.

Reach out to Rep. Taylor Small. She's an amazing rep for Winooski at the forefront of a lot of important work in this area. She is trans herself. I know less about Rep Troy Headrick and he's not trans but I believe he's also doing some good work too/in the progressive caucus.

Is there a trend of trans people leaving the south? I haven't heard anything about it.

Stop it, just stop it.... The fact that you're fortunate enough to ask this question answers it.. VT is welcoming to everyone who shares basic values.

Now, let's get back to pressing issues, lack of housing, sky-high living expenses with a lackluster economy?

Nah, forget it, you're right. Tell me more about how I can better spend my time making VT more welcoming....

Massachusetts has a big LGBTQ community, Vermont depends on the area. You can see there are some backwards people who live here and are less welcoming. But I know a few people who have transplanted here that are in the community and are happy.

So many of you are being jerks. Yeah I said it. Y'all can leave Vermont and make room for the newcomers.

What are YOU doing to show you will move to Vermont and become a productive member of society? If you want to be coddled and treated special a state all about being free to live your life on your own terms might not be your right choice. I'd try the west coast instead

What more do you want?

Not sure if this is a real query. But if it is, don't worry about moving here. The premier social value in Vermont, by far, is tolerance.

The narcissism here is a little over the top.

"hi, I don't live there, but what are you doing for me?"

Most people in VT don't care if you're trans but we are very, very sick of gentrification and not being able to afford to live here. That is the most pressing issue in this state and will be for some time. How about fixing the south instead of leaving?

There are a number of bills the state is specifically working on to protect trans youth and adults. S.37 currently has the most traction in terms of passing before the deadlines are closed. The education committees are also focused on how to restrict public taxpayer dollars going to independent schools that discriminate.

We are currently trying to cater to everyone. Not just a Tiny percentage of the population. The gender wars need to fuck off for a bit until we reach that goal
