Silly as it seems I would like someday to go up to the old Earth Peoples Park and look around for junk old bus parts or whatever artifacts can be found.
That not silly. I knew a number of people who used to live there.
That's pretty cool. I don't know anyone but still feel an odd connection when I look at some of the photos and vids from there. Had a few buses and dreads myself years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if I had crossed paths with some of them over the years while out on the road. Anyways it's on my list maybe this summer. There is one photo I came across a while ago from there two old buses but one was like 40' 50's vintage. I was looking for Ken Kesey somewhere in it:)
The closest I’ve come is many rainbow gatherings. The thing I find with communal living like that is that a small percent of the people usually end up doing the bulk of the work. I never mind the work part, I like working, I like building shit, cooking, and gathering wood. I never liked the sense of entitlement that a lot of the others displayed when it came to enjoying the fruits of my labor.
Done plenty of gatherings as well. Ocala Florida was insane. I could go on about running naked for miles in burnt forests with amazing heat lightning but you get the point:)
/u/bravestatevt - why are we not talking more about the housing shortage? land lord dynasty collusion to raise rents? UVM CEO bonuses and gentrification projects!? you know, STUFF THAT ACTUALLY MATTERS!
VPR is more for the upper crust. Turn it on and you'll get commercials for nannies and wealth management.
The nuevo landed gentry. Someone once said that it’s Ambien for Neo-Liberals.
They ran a story on the short term rental surge and how it's impacting the housing crisis less than a day after you posted this comment, FYI.

(p.s. we work on lots of episodes about a variety of topics at the same time)
I guess there were some intentional communities in the Mad River Valley up on Prickly Mountain. I'm not sure how communal they were and I think they morphed into you regular HOA type structures. And also in the MRV, I guess there were some condos built at the top of Rolston Rd. where originally you would walk through every single one of them from end to end. Rumor has it it caused all sorts of problems with people not respecting the refrigerators/cupboards of others AND beds too. They walled off those through-doors and turned them into regular condos.
