Only experience is having a friend bring is a vehicle for the same problem a three times. Told him to mention the lemon law the third time and get written documentation on the reported issue for the first two times.

The third time the Toyota dealer kept it an extra day, spent some time with it and found and fixed the issue permanently.

I successfully lemon lawed my 2020 diesel colorado last year. The coordinator at the state was very helpful. In my case, they had 6 attempts to fix the problem, including g bringing in a hot shot mechanic from out of state. No dice.

I appreciate the input. Interestingly, mine is also a diesel. Now it seems they are just throwing parts at it. It's getting a wiring harness now...

With mine it was an issue with the diesel exhaust fluid system. They had replaced pretty much the entire system by the time it was over. I am just assuming it was a design flaw with the 2.8 duramax. I could have lived with it but when it threw the code it disabled the engine.

Disabled the engine as in cuts out power entirely - no power steering, energy to braking system gone? That's the issue I'm seeing.

No, the computer would just incrementally lower the top speed. After 100 miles it would set to 60mph, 100 more to 50 mph etc. It would basically force you to take it to the shop.

The DMV website was very helpful when I needed to get Subaru to buyback my Forester. Some manufacturers may be willing to go with a buyback because it saves the car from getting a branded title, Subaru and I agreed upon following the lemonlaw payment details for our deal, they alternatively offered me a next model year vehicle with the depreciation from my faulty vehicle rolled in to a new loan.
