With a quick skip through the tracklist, there are a couple earworms I could see myself humming along to but personally I don't think they have the staying power as some of his other work.

What's telling to me is that "Something in 4/4 Time" sounds similar (lyrics wise) to the Sara Bareilles song "Love Song" where she's fed up with whoever's giving her input on her music and doesn't want to just write a song to satisfy some arbitrary need for a song to fit neatly into a category.

Enjoyed several of the songs back in the era, but had not thought about these songs in quite some time. A trip down memory lane…Hall seemed to be pushing the limits so far on this project that the record label didn’t know what to make of it.

This reminded me of the Daryl Hall/Robert Fripp collaboration on “Exposure,” called “You Burn Me Up I’m A Cigarette.” It was a song that Hall covered with Cheap Trick on his “Live From Daryl’s House” show.

it was part of a trilogy of albums with fripp's exposure(one of my favorite tripping albums), and peter gabriel's second solo album, scratch.

How good is Robert Fripp as a producer

He's great! All the albums he produced around this time (this, his own Exposure, Peter Gabriel 2 and The Roches debut album) are excellent.
