From 1995 until 1998, I was in the US Army and assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky. I remember driving on the Dixie Highway to Louisville, Kentucky and seeing drive through liquor store on the near county lines. Some Kentucky counties are dry- alcohol is illegal to sell. These types of county line liquor stores are nicknamed first chance / last change stores, because you were either departing or about to enter a dry county.
