Some of the pictures of Nehebkau are so funny: giant snake, tiny set of human legs underneath.

I imagine that one dude, a very long time ago, got way too drunk on honey wine, wandered out into the desert and passed out next to the exposed bones of a long dead dinosaur. The ribs were large enough that the Sahara sun only gave him sunburns in stripes across his dehydrated body, and that when he arrived back at his village, stripe-ed and hungover, he professed the love and protection of the giant snake god with legs.

Fun fact: snake have rudimentary legs. The leg bones can be found inside of their body. Perhaps the ancient egyptians have noticed those weird little bones.
