More recent research suggests that this isn’t true. Woodpeckers don’t show any evidence of shock absorption (and doing so would make their pecking less effective); they’re instead protected from concussion simply by having much smaller brains.

The more interesting thing is the linked article doesn't actually have anything to do with whether or not the physiology is shock absorbing lol it's about the tau link between Alzheimer's/CTE and woodpeckers having tau deposits. The article suggests the tau may be a protective mechanism and not just evidence of brain damage and needs further study

It's 1,000-2,000g.

I don't care how small the brain is. Something has to be protecting it from shaking.

always be careful with commas, your numbers can be read as 1g or 1000g

It's an American thing. We use commas instead of periods.

I am not American, but it is simply better to use a period as a decimal point and commas as place separators. A period ends a sentence, it should end a whole number. A comma separates sections of a sentence, it should separate place values in a number.

Why is bike a part of that sentence? Could have just said internal helmet. Don't even look like a bike helmet.

It's the most relatable kind of helmet to most demographics
