Because crude oil is a global commodity. Since Europe cannot buy Russian crude oil anymore they are buying US, Canadian and South American crude oil which makes it more expensive for the US refiners to buy their crude oil. Supply and demand. Send the crude oil is more expensive for the US refiners the final products, gasoline diesel jet etc are also more expensive. Source: have been working in oil and gas for the last two decades.

We in the UK get a tiny percentage of our gas and oil from Russia, yet our prices have risen too :(
