That's not linguistic nationalism, Assamese tolerated their nuisances for long and are still tolerating. There is still anti-Bengali(people) sentiment, language is not a main reason. Illegal migrations from bangladesh, occupying of land are some of the main reasons.

It’s not? Then what is linguistic nationalism? If Bengalis being killed to make Assamese a dominant language or Bengalis dying to get their language recognised as official language is not? Or Tamils burning themselves to death to protest Hindi imposition?

When Tamils ask for a independence because of language, that is linguistic nationalism. And currently it is nearly non-existent
