Nothing about GG was punk rock unless you consider beating up women to be punk. Guy was a piece of shit and meeting people who like him is a major red flag and I create distance with such people.

GG Allin was punk rock music being played by a fucking lunatic. I see him as an extreme version of Sid Vicious: it’s not the music you’re attracted to, it’s the controversy. Whether or not he did what he did solely for attention is anybodies guess, but he sure did get a lot of it.

Now having said that, I don’t think anybody has the right to say what is and isn’t punk. Not trying to start an argument or anything, just trying to add my perspective.
