TLDR in the caption, however for context, my fiancé and I react terribly to any form of thc. Highs are excruciating and we panic severely. No matter how many tries, we have had zero luck so we avoid it.

My fiancé hit a weed pen of a coworker the night prior and was not doing well; I went to buy him some CBD to bring him down a little and make things more calm. Unfortunately, I did a terrible job at double checking what I was just sold and blindly purchased what I was recommended by the vape store guy. I brought home HHC gummies instead.

After each taking a gummy (my fiancé took 2) we go about our day but while canoodling in bed, I begin to feel woozy and tingly. We both looked at each other and thought “Oh fuck.”

Next thing you know, we are both high as all hell and fighting the panic that comes with it. Our bodies are on fire and we are speaking nonsense while trying to remain present.

We ended up bedlocked for 12 hours and were not having a good time at all. I made his residual weed panic worse and sent myself spiraling. Not a fuck up im proud of and he will definitely not let me live it down, hahah.

It sounds like maybe you should just stop fucking around with substances you don’t handle well altogether.

It’s so dumb how weed isn’t federally decriminalized. As much as I really dislike most of the people who live in legal states, I envy them for this 1 thing alone.

All that lol. It’s worth mentioning I’m a HUGE supporter of gun rights and I’m very much against the ridiculous laws and regulations surrounding purchasing a firearm or ammunition. The MAJORITY (not all) of people in those states are very Anti-gun, and I hate anyone who is actively limiting my access to guns/ammo. If you’re stupid enough to think guns are unnecessary, I don’t know what to tell you. There’s so many examples of crime happening everywhere, anytime that I cannot even believe people are debating the issue. Anyway, I really want to avoid politics, obviously I didn’t, but that’s a huge reason so I felt it necessary to mention.

Hexahydrocannabinol, which is synthetically produced as a result of hydrogenating cannabis extracts. It is psychoactive and produces a high, but is typically considered 50-70% less potent than traditional delta-9 THC. As a different cannabinoid, it produces a different kind of high than delta-9 THC as well.

The issue you have isn't that you took HHC per se, but you took it with another caanibinoid. This creates a sympathetic uptake. The endocanniboid sytem experiences an increased reaction due to the interaction of multiple cannabinoids binding to it, referred to as the Entourage Effect. This can result in the perception of intoxication being amplified hugely. This is similar to how your brain reacts to seratonin in the presence of SSRI antidepressants.

It sounds to me like you are experiencing symptoms of having a dosage that is far too high for your tolerance level. If you continue to try using it. I would recommend starting with delta-8 or HHC and sticking to gummies. Check the packaging to determine the amount of cannabinoid in each gummy. Normal amounts are 25-50mg for standard doses. Cut the gummy down to a quarter of total (literally cut it into 4 equal parts). Take one quarter close to when you eat, and wait an hour to determine the effects.

That low of a dose should never negatively effect anyone, maybe give a slight feeling of haziness and relaxation. If you have bad symptoms from that dose, you need to either stop consuming entirely, see a doctor, or both. If you do ok, you can take another quarter (or eighth) and again, wait an hour. Vaping is risky, because it could easily be a dab, a blended dab, or high concentration solution. Inhalation is also the fastest way to get it to your brain, smoking and dabbing being fastest, so judging the dose is very hard for a newb.

Do a little research and get educated on what these products are and how the work and affect you. This isn't a lethal drug, but it can fuck up your world profoundly if you approach it from ignorance or improperly consume. Please misbehave responsibly.

Yeaaaaaah our tolerance is way low. We never really do weed of any kind. I don’t remember the exact dosage of the gummies, but we took like 10-20x more than what we should’ve having no tolerance.

Sucked major booty but hey, I should’ve read the package closer before just assuming I was correctly sold the CBD I was originally looking for. :’)

Ahh, ok I can kinda understand that then. I used to partake heavily before I had a kid. I’ve known people for years that used to be able to smoke, and all of a sudden it turns into a miserable, anxiety-provoking experience that isn’t worth it anymore. But they often have a hard time giving up the social aspect of smoking.

Interesting. I dabbled quite a bit myself (and about 20 years ago, when there was always some crazy new research chemical like 2ce to try, as well as the standards like acid and mushrooms), but most people I know who had weed turn on them weren’t into many other drugs. They did have actual mental health issues however, and I always attributed it to that. To be fair though I lost touch with many of the people I used to trip with so perhaps that’s more common than I realize.
