Last night, I [31F] was having a dream where my fiance [31F] and I went to a music festival. Most of it was just normal dream stuff but at one point this woman squared up with my fiance. Now, my lady is a scraper but I'm not going to leave her by herself so I step in like "oh no you don't, you ain't fighting her, you're fighting me/us" and this girl cocked back like she was about to go! So I punched her right in the sternum and was getting ready to secure our exit when I hear a voice IRL. My fiance's voice. "WHAT THE HECK BABE?!" Apparently when I threw a punch in my dream I also threw a punch IRL. A weak asleep punch but I caught her right in the face!

She's fine; after giving me quite a look she rolled over and went right back to sleep, and this morning we've had a good laugh about it.

TL;DR: Punched the love of my life trying to punch someone in my dream

If you're like my ex wife and act like it was real, you should get indignant and be like "I was trying to defend you."

A similar thing happened to my wife. She is a nurse and she had a dream that I had a heart attack. I woke up after recieving a Precordial thump. (Basically a hammer fist to the chest. Generally only effective within the first couple of seconds of V.Fib. Only really used in the hospital with a monitor when you actually see the rhythm change. I guess my wifes dream had a monitor.)

Oh don't worry. My wife fights dragons in her sleep from time to time. She elbows and kicks me.

I once had a dream about punching an annoying co-worker and swung my closed fist while asleep and actually punched my wall.

It hurt badly but I shrugged and just fell back asleep. Woke up a few hours later to a swollen hand. Turns out I had a broken thumb and 3 broken knuckles.

This was also how I learned not to make a fist by tucking my thumb inside my fingers.

My boyfriend did this to me too! He felt so bad about it, but I thought it was pretty funny (after I got over the initial shock)

My roommate had a nightmare and wanted to kick the monster in his sleep. Unfortunately he also kicked the wall besides his bed and nearly broke his foot. At least the monster isn't coming back again ...

I did this to my wife. Didn't realize what happened until the next day she called me from work and was wondering why her lip was swollen. I felt so bad and still feel bad about it.

I had a dream about 6 years ago that I was having a fight with a guy and we were wrestling around and he ended up in a position where he could bite the inside of my thigh. In my dream I jerked my thigh away from him. In real life I threw my leg back toward the edge of the bed.

I woke up just as my fall started, and landed flat on my back on the floor. Knocked the wind out of me, and I laid there for a bit just checking that nothing appeared broken and things could move. Rough way to start the day.

Before I received my CPAP I used to thrash around a lot and just randomly raise my arms in the air and let them drop. My wife has woke me up before in the past asking why I did that. Me waking up not knowing what was going on asked her to explain and she did. I’ve always felt bad. Since my CPAP I don’t move in my sleep now.

At least you were defending her.

My wife had a dream that I was cheating on her. So, at 3:00am, she executed a beautiful, lying down, spinning back fist to my lower ribs and yelled, "YOU CHEATED ON ME!"

While I was trying to get air back into my lungs, she rolled back over and never even woke up.

Soccer dreams for me. One pretty solid elbow to the face once too, but that's bc I flop over like a whale. Get a king size bed if you can manage it.
