Have you talked to your parents about getting her mental help?

My friend's little brother was diagnosed bipolar 4 years ago but didn't like his meds. He finally went back to therapy last year and they prescribed him other meds which he's actually been staying on. The first meds had side effects but these new ones have almost none, and he says he feels normal now. He's even holding down a job finally.

Unfortunately, she doesn’t listen to our parents at all. I’m 19, and the only person she sometimes listens to, or at least calls when she needs advice for something. I’ve been trying to talk to her about getting therapy, and she’s more or less agreed, but with several stipulations, like it has to be a man, and it has to be in person, that are difficult to work around with insurance. My mom has been struggling with her heart recently, so I moved back home to be the buffer between her and my sister essentially.
