I wish he did beat the shit out of you, you asshole. What are you doing driving high? You could kill somebody.

TheBadScout t1_isg44s9 wrote

I guess you could say that wasn’t a very bright idea.

link_the_fire_skelly t1_isg77z7 wrote

Solve the problem by not diu. Do you get drunk and drive? You realize that you’re operating a multi-ton machine that could kill people with one bad decision?

Tall-Equipment-9046 t1_isgs9q5 wrote

i do not in fact get drunk and drive

−2

daswizard t1_isgubwd wrote

Actually, dui is "driving under the influence." Could be alcohol or THC or anything that alters your ability to safely operate the vehicle. Such as "smoke some joints."

Tall-Equipment-9046 t1_isgutv5 wrote

I’m aware, which is why I included it in the post. I’m just answering this person’s question

link_the_fire_skelly t1_isgw3t0 wrote

Then why do you use marijuana and drive? It’s almost the same thing. You were obviously too under the influence to make safe decisions. You should rethink the decision to dui.

Most cars aren’t multiple tons

−7

link_the_fire_skelly t1_isghy49 wrote

Average sedan is 1.5 tons.

Exactly

link_the_fire_skelly t1_isgl2bl wrote

So why did you comment again?

1

dreadpiratew t1_isgl55h wrote

Because 1.5 is not multiple.

link_the_fire_skelly t1_isgwdm8 wrote

I don’t think you understand how numbers work.

dreadpiratew t1_ish6xou wrote

I think “multiple” in this context means more than one, but integers only.

1

link_the_fire_skelly t1_ish7f3o wrote

Multiple is a relative word. In a non-mathematical context such as this, it means having several of. Most vehicles are multi-ton beasts. Sedans, which are on the smaller side of vehicles, are still massive and heavy. 1.5+ is multiple in my opinion. Either way, why are you getting pedantic when the issue I brought up is based around the life-threatening decisions of op? Something way over a ton and a half, probably more, is extremely dangers moving over 15 mph. Nevermind if the driver is impaired to the point of not understanding their circumstances.

I read this article years ago that there are some gangs that will drive with no lights and wait for someone to flash them to tell them to turn the lights on. Then kill them…

Stopped flashing people since and my high beams too

You should’ve bought a carriage return while you were at Walmart.

I’ve never seen so many Karen’s in a comment section 🤣

Is flashing your lights at someone that serious in the US? Where I’m from it’s such a small deal and no one would give a shit.

Lesson learnt. Also good thing for not pulling up to that police officer lol.

Tek_Ronin t1_isgg64g wrote

Don’t drive while high and keep your weed smell off of furniture someone might buy

pogiguy2020 t1_isgo8hg wrote

Thank you for coming on Reddit and admitting to committing a crime of DUI.

You are lucky he did not get out and just start shooting. If you are going to get high do not drive.

2

magicunicornhandler t1_isg4bp7 wrote

Why didnt you just pass him? Or deal with it since you were that close to where you were going?

Also there’s no field test for being high like there would be for drunk driving. No one knows what’s in your car except you dude.

You're young and you i guess you did it just as a joke, it's not a big deal. That guy just has serious anger issues or maybe he can't take a joke. And what are brights? Sorry I don't understand the slang I'm from another country. Is it underwear coz that's what I'm getting from the context.

Upsetting_Reality t1_isgalsq wrote

It’s the high beams (bright lights) on a vehicle. The intention is flashing them (turning them on and off) will alert the driver in front of you but it can be very irritating for the driver’s eyes at night.

3

Mrskowalski t1_isgbqyu wrote

I was way off. That even makes it more ridiculous to be thaaaat angry. I know op you're scared of meeting him again so just be cautious when you're driving but I think the chances are low.

1

Careidina t1_isgb288 wrote

High beams. He was turning his car lights on high to blind him to the point where he couldn't see the road. The other driver has every right to be angry.

2

Mrskowalski t1_isgbz0e wrote

To the point of giving him death threats?

1

Careidina t1_isgiaqy wrote

No. Since an officer was nearby he should've went to them. Since OP was doing it constantly the other driver most likely wasn't thinking clearly.

1

Tall-Equipment-9046 t1_isgss30 wrote

i literally flashed them at him once. On and then right off again to hopefully get him to speed up. My headlights are very dim anyways, they’re not blinding at all

NightLord1995 t1_isg9puq wrote

Wish he did beat your ass. You never know nowadays. In cali, there has been so many road rages reported where one person ticks the next driver off and then that driver just starts shooting out their window. You definitely deserved what should’ve happened
