Meh it was only a 6 month relationship. I'd do a lot now for my fiancee that I wouldn't have at our 6 month mark.

My mom changed my dad's mom's diapers. She needed 'round the clock end-of-life care, and that was the only affordable option at the time. Real people deal with real shit when the going gets tough.
