I hope I don't sound like an old man now (because I'm not). But if I have learned anything from my life until now it is: own up to your mistakes.

You might get away with lying but this just lowers the threshold of your next "mistake" until the bar is so low, you go to far and fuck everything up. Tell your friends parents you are sorry, offer to pay for cleaning, and accept any punishment from your own parents.
