I loved the last of us....but I'm not sure if it's going to be worth it if we are going to get pitches for everyone's favorite video game daily now.

Almost everyone's favorite video game gets picked up for screen adaptation already anyway, then quietly dropped after a few years of trying to put a script together. Good adaptation is hard to do.
The Last of Us benefitted from a perfect combo of a talented screenwriter with a golden ticket to make anything and an interest in the game combined with the game's respected producer wanting to dabble. It won't be that easy for most.

It also helps that The Last of Us is a pretty easily adaptable game, all things considered. Not to diminish what they've done with the show so far, but it was already quite a tightly-paced and well-structured story as video games go. Most games would need a lot more work to get them into a place where it could be a compelling TV show. (Even the sequel is going to be tougher to adapt, I think.)

TLOU is my favorite series of all time, but I would be willing to have every sub auto block TLOU news just so I don't have to keep seeing this shit.
