I'll be honest; I went into this having very little interest in the source material, but being devoted to Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon, I didn't wanna miss it.
Well, I'm just enjoying every episode way more than I expected to - not only is their acting and their chemistry insane, but the show itself is wonderfully written and shot. I find that every shot is beautifully crafted and poignant, and every time i reach the end of an episode I'm caught off guard because an hour seems to have just flown by.
I know there's complaints about their voices not being true fo the originals, but I'm honestly so baffled at how good they are anyway, and mind you that neither of them are singers.
I'm just genuinely surprised at how much I'm loving this show and i hope there's people here who are appreciating it too.

I had high expectations and I’m a little disappointed. I’m put off by the singing because George and Tammy were the 1% of the 1% as far as vocalists go and it’s sorta treated as an afterthought. That is THE reason they are so revered. If you’re interested, there is a stellar podcast called “Cocaine and Rhinestones”. The entire second season is about George and therefore Tammy. If something in the show seems too insane to be true, it is absolutely true.
