That's the first episode that came to my mind.
Also not a children's show but I think the way Modern Family handled the death of Luke's elderly neighbor friend was quite good.
I remember two more from Bluey.
There's one where Bingo is in the hospital and they create a video for her where the main lesson is that it's normal to get sick and everyone will experience sickness. I have seen children's shows deal with sickness but I don't think I have seen one remind kids how it's a normal part of life.
There's also the episode where their Aunt Brandy visits for the first time in years. Their mum explained that she stayed away because she wanted something and was not meant to be. It's heavily implied that what their aunt wanted was her own kids and that she stayed away because she found it be around her sister and nieces.
Edit: corrected episode details
Yup the purple underpants from someone who's never been sick.
Wasn't that when Bluey swapped rooms and they kept going back and forth all night?
The Owl House covers a lot of stuff in this vein.
Luz mourns her dad, Eda deals with what can be compared to a chronic physical or mental illness, and there's a lot of stuff about complicated family dynamics that's handled with a lot of grace.
S2 also has the characters only very barely preventing a Puritan dictator from committing genocide.
It handles some pretty heady stuff very elegantly, so naturally Disney decided it's not their brand and cancelled it.

There was a Different Strokes episode with a man trying to molest Gary Coleman and his friend. It was pretty shocking and disturbing but it taught kids a good lesson.
Unfortunately some would label any sensitive subject as being 'woke' now.
Steven Universe
I'll leave it at that
EDIT: Literally left it at that and I got downvoted. Fuck a Duck, lol
I mean if you don’t want subtly sure.
Steven Universe is a show made for young adults and 20 somethings.

Bluey has an episode called Copycat where they find an injured budgie, they take it to the vet, and it dies.
