Which streamers? For worldwide streamers, midnight for you isn't midnight for everyone.

So they need to pick a time that hits the same date worldwide. If they waited for, let's say 8pm ET, that will be the next day for half the world.

Say it’s a 9 or even 10pm release, it’s still watchable for all of the Americas, releases at 3am vs 6am for Europe, roughly 1pm vs 4pm in Australia/NZ/China which makes up the majority of the target audience. There are virtually no places in the world that lose the ability to watch it promptly after release by shifting it a few hours earlier. Still sucks for Europe but it’s not any better for them at 6am vs 3am

So they have to have bespoke marketing for every time zone that crosses over to the next day, rather than the one giving the release date. C'mon, it's not that difficult to use a bit of logic.

Avoiding spoilers? Just don't click on the links. What's difficult about that? Don't you have self control? Stay off social media if you can't control your link clicking or are concerned about spoilers. Avoid certain websites that push spoilers. Do you have a life outside of the internet? Sounds like you have self control and social media addiction if you can't live a day without being online. I watch Survivor every week days after airing, while avoiding spoilers. I've seen a Super Bowl tape delayed 3 hours after the game was over, didn't know who won until I finished watching. It's not difficult if you aren't addicted to the internet and social fucking media.

The days flips at 12 midnight, so logically, streaming companies release at midnight as it's the start of the day. HBO releases some shows "live" at a certain time every week. See the difference? One is a live airing, one is posted online for people to watch when they want. Two different business models.
