As someone who can tell you about all the deep fascinating political battles of the studio at the time between Katzenberg and Eisner and all that, the first 1/3 of the episode still had me questioning if some things were real! Lol.

If you want a imo satisfying explanation why the goofy movie is a "black" movie I recommend this actual short documentary video about the goofy movie
Tl;dw one of the main character artists for the goofy movie was a black woman who infused a style to some of the characters that resonated with a lot of black youth.
