He's got the experience and self deprecating sense of humor missing from the karaoke guy. Keep the tradition of a UK comedian in the timeslot.

The thought of his voice broadcasting to America made me laugh.
Why not just go completely on the nose while jumping the shark with:
They should just replace the slot with a panel show
Too camp

Jack Whitehall
No more Brits.
Or they could hire a sack of dog shit so the transition from James Corden is a bit subtler.

Leave the dude alone for one second. Anyone in his place would've taken the role considering how big 'The Witvher' is. The only entity that needs to be blamed here is Netflix for not making sure that the writers they hired cared for the show they were making.
Or they could just cancel it because who the fuck watches late night tv? Is 10 minutes of shitty stand up followed by 50 minutes of product placement still a thing people are watching?
I always watch late night talk shows the morning after via YouTube after the top headlines in the morning news change to fluff pieces. I can cobble a playlist together of all the segments and interviews I care about and skip over the cheesy/studio network forced synergy stuff. Though, sometimes the best moments happen when the host is being forced to interview and promote the network's newest sitcom that's trash with a leading actor who must've gotten the role either via blackmail or sex.
Ricky Gervais.
He’s about as funny as Corden (i.e not at all), so would be a direct replacement (IMHO).
