People are going to mock this, but the market for these movies is huge every Christmas. It's a genuinely solid get for Peacock.

So popular that is a comic-con devoted to these movies that happens twice a year.

Absolutely. They've got a portfolio of content which is pretty distinctive (as well as the live channels) and as a known brand in it's own right, could drive a decent number of new subs who, more importantly, may be liable to stick around if there is a constant stream of new Hallmark programming...

Like you say, it's going to be easy to mock from some quarters because it's not a huge budget Star Wars or dragon show but strategically, it's a pretty canny move...

Quite a lot of old people have internet nowadays, an audience that isn't catered to by Netflix, Amazon, Paramount, Disney.

A reasonable affordable, simple, intuitive streaming service that focuses on putting on, and remastering, classic shows could be a huge hit. Basically no new content, just break into the home of everyone over the age of 60 and see what DVD's they own.

Between Days of Our Lives, this, Columbo, and Murder She Wrote, Peacock is cornering the market on the "Grandson, help me install Peacock" demo!

Hundreds of hours of "Female executive from a small town who moved to the big city to advance her career comes back to her small town for the first time in years for reasons, meets a charming widower and his precocious tween daughter, and learns that love and family mean more than a successful career" coming soon to The Cock.

I can hear my mother already cheering while starting to call me to get her a subscription.

Thank God. Now I won’t have to browse through Hallmark content on any of the streaming services I have.

I love Peacock, but the audio and video are out of sync after every single commercial break. I have to exit what I'm watching and then start it again to fix it.

This a big win for em. The old demographic is a reliable one.
