The Get Shorty series is great, hilarious, but also super dark. If anything a problem I had with the first season is how much awful shit the main characters do and it’s treated pretty lightly, but the tone isn’t really super cartoonish.

Dark, Bojack Horseman, the first seasons of You and The Handmaid’s Tale (they work as mini-series, and the subsequent seasons are substantially weaker)

I highly recommend Mr Inbetween! It ran for 3 seasons on FX in the US and each episode is around 30 minutes. Great Aussie humour and some dark criminal elements. Mr Inbetween, Mad Men, and True Detective are the only shows I can say I've watched numerous times.
