Stalker. It got alot of negative reviews but I loved it between the acting, the storytelling and the creepiness.

Braindead is another that I loved even though the comedy was terrible at times.

Smallville. ( Mainly because I am rewatching )

Only live-action Superman property since 2000s to get superman right in my opinion. It was before the arrowverse so there was no formula and the tech was still behind what they could do in flash however this meant they had to absolutely nail the casting and characters which I felt they did for the most part.

The superhero stuff is actually where the show falls short like with doomsday and Darkseid but it's still my favourite CWesque property because of the great cast and focus on what makes superman a good character.

It's not because he is OP but rather the difference between being raised by the warmth of the Kents compared to being raised by the luthers.

True Blood. It didn't go downhill; it was always trash. Preposterous, glorious trash. I love it.

Ugh supernatural. So many shitty seasons, but I ate it up 😅 took me almost a decade to finish though.

I think procedurals like Fringe and Person of Interest fit the bill maybe? With the long seasons there were bound to be a couple of duds here and there, especially early on. But they also hit truly great highs if you stick with them

Rome only ran 2 seasons and my complaint is that in order to get it down to a manageable script they re-wrote history.

Another was Dead Like Me where they explained the rules in the pilot and then disregarded those rules in later episodes.

And then there's The Expanse where they have a convenient view of gravity.

To flaw is human - to forgive, well we paid for cable.

Hot take maybe, but Castlevania. It's one of my favourite modern shows, but the second half gets very uneven.

You have incredibly high highs like Isaac's journey, or the Infinite Corridor scene, or Death's reveal, but then you have a bunch of stuff that feels way too drawn out like Hector's plot in S3, or the time spent with Zamfir (which the show just...bails on at the end). Alucard as well feels basically wasted from S3 onward, which is a shame since he's easily one of the most interesting characters before then (topped by only Dracula himself).

Also, possibly a hot take within a hot take, but there's too much action in season 4. It's beautifully animated, but serves little purpose, whereas the fights before then were built up too and felt like they were there to serve the plot as well as entertain. But by the end of season 4 they're fighting Vampire Miniboss #342 when they could have used that time to have our main trio (who hasn't seen each other since Season 2) re-connect a little.

I still love it though, and am excited to see what they do with the spin-off.

Gotham. Had a love-hate relationship with that show, but man, it always managed to keep me invested.

Happy! from SyFy. It really should've just been a miniseries.

Season One was a masterclass in pitch-dark dark comedy, and Season Two was an unnecessary continuation that ends without resolution because it was cancelled.

I didn't think season 5 of The Americans was a slog. Sure, it was the calm before the storm, but in retrospect it was necessary for character development in the final season.

LOST, sure has plot holes but still one of the best examples of how to write interesting characters, especially when you have like 15 characters! I really think they should use that show as an example in writing classes of how to write well-fleshed characters

Spartacus makes me laugh with its teenage level over the top violence and titties but it's actually very well written, you care about these fellas. One of the best examples of surface level cartoon silliness/hidden heart I've seen

I’d love a season or a movie to wrap it up.

Last time I spoke about Happy! on here somebody messaged me saying they were involved with the second season specifically. They told me the series was cancelled due to having a very troubled production.

When I asked if they knew where the whole resurrected Nick Sax and demon stuff was going, they said that’s part of the troubled production. That there was never any creative plan, everything was made up script-to-script. Scripts were often late, causing everything else to go overboard. The show runners didn’t have a plan, the writers had to wing it, the actors got scripts late, filming was delayed or running over schedule, etc. Apparently the whole thing was a headache.
