Hot take maybe, but Castlevania. It's one of my favourite modern shows, but the second half gets very uneven.
You have incredibly high highs like Isaac's journey, or the Infinite Corridor scene, or Death's reveal, but then you have a bunch of stuff that feels way too drawn out like Hector's plot in S3, or the time spent with Zamfir (which the show just...bails on at the end). Alucard as well feels basically wasted from S3 onward, which is a shame since he's easily one of the most interesting characters before then (topped by only Dracula himself).
Also, possibly a hot take within a hot take, but there's too much action in season 4. It's beautifully animated, but serves little purpose, whereas the fights before then were built up too and felt like they were there to serve the plot as well as entertain. But by the end of season 4 they're fighting Vampire Miniboss #342 when they could have used that time to have our main trio (who hasn't seen each other since Season 2) re-connect a little.
I still love it though, and am excited to see what they do with the spin-off.
