Episode 9 was such a missed opportunity to show Sunfyre, the most beautiful dragon in the show

Can't wait.

I'm so tempted to read the book but don't want to be spoiled. Torn/

Don't rewatch GoT until after the end of HotD then. There is a scene in which a character very unceremoniously recaps the end of the Dance of the Dragons.

I hated joffrey, but man HotD has made me hate Crispin Cole much more

I kinda wish they gave a bunch of possible reasons why Cole was firmly on the Greens in the book but didn't specify why instead on making it "he's been hung up on being rejected by a girl and hasn't moved on for 10 years"

what episode is that? And what character?

Joffrey, s3e4. If you want to skip it it's the scene where Joffrey is showing Margaery historical artifacts and she is pretending to be interested so she can manipulate him into liking her

What episode was it exactly anyone know? I wanna show it to my girl but don’t want to spoil it for her

What exactly are you planning to do? If you watch GoT first, she'll have forgotten the spoiler by the time she watches HotD. Or is she watching HotD right now?

S3e4, about 15 minutes in when Joffrey is talking to Margaery and showing her historical artifacts.

Well, the broad strokes will be "spoiled" for you reading the book. But there are plenty of events left to the show to do whatever they want. The book is not "written" but GRRM per se. It's transcribed from a text by Archmaester Gyldayn a generation or two after the Dance.

He himself is working off of conflicting sources. So there are plenty of moments where something happens, say that Criston Cole plainly hates Rhaenyra. As to why there are three conflicting stories. What's an adaptation going to do...? So even though one has read the book, there are plenty of surprises to be had.

Honestly you probably won't even realize when they spoil some of it. The Dance of the Dragons is a historical event by the time of GoT so it's brought up at points.

I read the book after the show started and it was a good complement to the show. The story is told based on accounts as read by a Maester, so lots of conflicting events and accounts. Which makes the show fun to see what “really happened”. It helps a lot with knowing the characters, especially with how quick the first episodes felt.

Plus it’s worth it just to get up to where Jaherys has the great council to support Vesarhys. I did the audiobook so I can’t spell shit.

I had given up on the GoT franchise after season 8. Now I'm waiting for more. I hope the Snow series somehow picks up the pieces of their night King plot.

You are kissing out if you liked the pre final season of GOT. It covers a lot but not force rushed like the show runners have a plane to catch. And the characters don’t yet become Flanderized like Jon Snow towards the end.

There’s rumors over at Warner that the new CEO Zaslav wanted to have the season 8 redone and move forward with a season 9 & 10.

LeoLaDawg t1_itdsbh3 wrote

That would be interesting if it happened, but it seems almost impossible.

I will say that they created one of the most iconic villains via their Night King amalgam and then impotently Arya stabbed him to death. So much potential spin off money just flushed.

Albator_H t1_ite11ov wrote

Let’s spend 8 season pump up Night king vs John Snow battle and have them never fight….

That was a bold decision, how did that turned out for the show runners again?
