Some mini series come to mind. They are all a little darker than the ones you mentioned, but you asked for heavier drama, so...:
True detective s01
mare of easttown
Sharp Objects
Big little lies
The outsider
Seems like all the fun ones have a limited release. Thank you I will give it a shot.
I didn't realize things could get darker lol (though I don't typically watch crime shows etc.). Both DNB and Fargo S01 left me wishing I could have stayed in those towns a little longer.
Thank you for your list.
Fortitude
Sorjonen/Bordertown
Trapped
The Killing
The Bridge
The Chestnut Man
Three Pines
Basically look up the entire Nordic Noir genre
DARK
The Outsider
You know, Fargo S02 is also great. You should check it out.

I did watch S02 shortly after S01. It seems we're going to have a difference of opinion on it. :)
It was definitely artistic and the strong writing was still somewhat there too but it largely fell flat for me. Hanzee was great and Peggy and even "the butcher" grew on me but in the end I just couldn't get over some things and it didn't inspire much of anything in me.
I'm hoping S03/S04 will be redeemers.
Thanks for the list and moreso for the genre suggestions. I felt like there was something specific I was looking for but didn't know what if anything to call it!
I almost misunderstood your comment -- I'm glad I searched to see if it was a TV show first. Lmao.
TY.
"The killer could be anyone in Helgasund ... That's over seven people." LMAO.
Thanks for the laugh.
TY. Both The Outsider and Mare of Easttown received more than one vote.
I agree S01 was far better than all of the following, but it was also the one closer to the original film, which is a great film from the Coen brothers. So, for me it was not very exciting. I've watched S03 and although the actors were great, the story just didn't grab me the same way. Hope you'll like it better (there are great critics about it).
I forgot there was an original film too. Maybe I was biased against S02 because I wanted to stay in S01 more.
Thank you again for your post.
