Doesn't Apple have infinite money, I thought this streaming channel was just an advertisement gimmick.

You don't get to infinite money by leaving money on the table though.
Not that I condone having ads on Apple TV+. I think it's an absolutely atrocious idea that undermines Apple's premium brand.

No corporation can seem to stop themselves from nickel-and-diming. No amount of money is ever enough.

Most streaming platforms are in the red. It's an unworkable model in its current form*.

This. There's basically Netflix which is consistently profitable and everything else is either in the red or might have a year where they barely are profitable before going back under. It's a total money suck because most of these came late to the party and have to compete with all the other people entering an over saturated market.
Right now I think the big ones are just waiting for the rest to give up and die off.

This is for live sports. I don't think AppleTV+ will have an ad-supported version, but live sports will definitely have ads.

I think the author is making a leap here. Sounds like they’re building out their ad sales team for their sports products not for ads during the regular shows.
