That picture is a lion fish which is an invasive species to that region.

Except France has overseas territories that include places the Lion Fish isn’t invasive. You can’t really call it a region, it includes parts of Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the Western Pacific.

France has land in the outh pacific and Indian Ocean? Those are the only 2 places that natively have Lion Fish.

I thought it was a funny choice as well, but they are beautiful and attention grabbing, and as the other comment said, they are native to other French territories

The image caption states that they are also studying the impact of invasive species in these biomes. Definitely the right choice in context, but yeah, looked dumb to me too.
