I don't think it's Netflix doing it, just the UK government. It's like some kind of bizarre taxpayer-funded white knighting.

Bizarre? The US and UK are always white knighting businesses. They start wars for businesses. Nicaragua, Iran, India, etc it’s pretty much what they do.

There are many other examples, but these wars were fought at the behest of private companies.

In Iran, the British hired the CIA to organize a coup and depose the then Prime Minister of Iran because of his plan to nationalize the oil industry.
