I’m looking at the 14 week 5k group hosted by fleet fee but have no running experience/stamina and am worried about not having the baseline fitness needed for the group.

Maybe I’ll see you there on January 10th!
I’d be interested too
This sounds cool.
I’ve never done a Fleet Feet training, but 14 weeks for couch to 5k will almost certainly accommodate all levels. I know lots of people who have done their trainings and they speak very highly of them.
When I got into running about 6 years ago I used the LOLO 5k training app.
I have some friends that have done that running group. They never had running experience and really enjoy it. They’ve done several 5K’s now.
Thank you, this is the kind of experience info I was looking for :)
Hi y’all! I actually used to work at Fleet Feet and I’d like to say go ahead and give the group a try! Everybody in the running community and at Fleet Feet is super nice and will help you if you run into any difficulty! I did the couch to 5k group when I was first hired and I have never been a runner but I’m very happy I did it!
Thank you so much for the input! That’s really encouraging
Does this group cost money? I was originally just planning to train on my own
$100 for the full course, but that includes seminars on correct running technique to avoid injury and a discount at the store and for their running events. I get my shoes there and want to learn correct gait so it’s worth it for me at this time. At this point the question is if I want to start in January or wait for the summer course when it’s warmer.
The Saturday runs are at different locations so I’m hopeful it’s a good group event to meet people and see more of the city/learn some new park trails as well.
I did a marathon training program with Fleet Feet in the past. The groups for 5k, half marathon, and marathon all met at same time for many of the runs. Of course the distances being run were different for each group. But it seemed many if not most of the 5k group were new runners. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves and getting something out of it. I don’t think it’s expected that 5k group comes to it with high baseline fitness.
Part of being a runner is the great camaraderie of the running community! The Fleet Feet group will have great mentor/other runners that you will meet.
I highly recommend you give it a shot.
That’s really good to know, thank you!

I’m also looking at doing Fleet Feet’s program! I was hoping they would accommodate all levels. I plan on reaching out and asking them this week!
