I wouldn't go there just because of the building. Way to nice and expensive. Means they will try and sell you on every service they can, and guess what, I'll bet insurance doesn't cover all of it.

A place like that is strictly about the business.

I definitely had a "WTF" moment when I passed this while driving down to Silver Dollar City.

Also, how does it have so many Google reviews?? It has almost as many reviews as Dickerson Park Zoo, more than Nathanael Greene, about twice as many as Hammons Field or Nakato, and over 3,600 more reviews than my dentist. Is there a water slide in there or something??? Should I have spent the day here instead of driving down to SDC?

100% what it is. Connected to JRA.

Edit to add: there are degrees of laundering. One degree is loophole-"legal" through tax deductions and tax-exempted gifts.

A... random....example would be when a church "gifts" large amounts of money to an individual. And individual builds a business with gift. And then "gifts" money back to church. Skirting taxes. And then business owner gets special treatment from charismatic church that worships wealth/"gifts" from god, and business man is then also worshipped as a "good business man." Feeds the narcissism and the wallet.

We need a documentary.

I went to have some work done there recently. After a string of countless crook dentists and just plain bad ones over the years, this is the first one where I came out truly pleased. Very nice people. They did the work well, showed me on paper the things I needed done in the future, and how much each would cost. No pressure at all. I highly recommend them!

I've never been to this place, but I just looked at their website because I was kind of curious about that. They appear to push subscription dentistry that includes two cleanings and an x-ray for $300/year. Honestly, that's less than my dentist charges. The current rates at my dentist are $139 for a cleaning and $50 for an x-ray. I don't feel the need to get an x-ray every year, but even if I just paid for an x-ray every other year, that would be $303 at my dentist vs. $300 at this place. So, at least to me, the prices seem reasonable. FWIW, my dentist is in a shitty strip mall on Kearney. It was next to a titty bar, but I think that closed.

The guy who runs that practice (at their old building) "fixed" one of my fillings I had done by his former colleague at Fremont Hills Dental. Said there was air in the filling which is why I was having pain. It had the exact same problem afterwards.

That was years ago though so maybe they've gotten better since.

This place is great. I had some much-needed work done, declined additional suggestions, and really have found every person who has ever helped me there to be very kind. They also have a coffee bar and have treats (gluten free options too) included at no additional cost.

They also have a massage chair room if you have to wait - I sat in it while waiting for a crown.

The pricing wasn’t insane or even pricier than expected either.

They also have a spa/esthetics division, though I never utilized those services.

Something is off. Maybe he is the son of a multimillionaire or wifed up an OReilly or something, but it isn’t like he is that old to have reinvested millions into this place on his own. And no bank is financing that to a 4 dentist team.

He may be very great at what he does…I don’t know.

Maybe he found the top 1% of profitable cases.

But this is either underwritten by some person or group of investors or there is some insurance scheming going on is my guess.

Dental has become more about being a commodity and less about skill and provider happiness the past decade.

7

Numerous-Mix-9775 t1_j26yixm wrote

They pulled that on me - told me I needed $20,000 worth of dental work. I freaked out, went and got a second opinion. I had three cavities.

Even at their old place, they had a great facility, free fancy coffee drinks, TVs in the ceiling, full-body massage chairs while you waited for your new crown to be printed, it was easily the most deluxe dental experience I’d ever had. But they have to pay for it all somehow.

Nothing about this comment surprises me. And if that’s evenly slightly accurate, nothing about hearing that’s what they believe, given the insane Christian propensity of lunatic rhetoric of this area, surprises me either. You could tell me James fucking River believes that it was actually Jesus’s teeth, specifically, who died on the cross for the sins of humanity and that’s why Billy Gail’s has 193 egg omelettes WITH a short stack on the side and I would 100% believe that to be the reason why that’s even offered on their menu in the first place. Slight sarcasm. Mostly fucking fact.

thisxisxlife t1_j296x3c wrote

I can vouch for the place. I’d give it 5 stars. First off, clearly, the place is unique. It’s really elegant and modern looking. The people in there were really nice. (I can’t speak to the owner and his whole prayer thing according to another commenter). But they also have a drink bar where they offer to make you smoothies, lattes, coffees, and even baked goods. The furnishing is ridiculous for a dental office. Each room has a giant ass TV that you can look up at while they work on your mouth. Hospitality is wonderful, everyone is friendly and asks you if you’d like a drink. If you get a coffee, you get a free mug. Comparatively, for someone with no dental insurance, they’re actually competitively priced. I had to get a deep cleaning done and when they told me the price, I told them I’d think on it, and called a few other places. The other places told me the wait, and the price, and needing new X-rays (fuck that) would be just about as much money. So I went with them.

Here’s the selling point for me though. During that deep cleaning, I refused the numbing agent that they inject into your gums, because fuck needles in the gums, and they actually cut some of the price off. Not only that, but because the hygienist went faster than she expected, she cut a bit more of the cost off the procedure. YMMV but without me even asking for it, a deep cleaning that cost me around $3k cut down to closer to $2.5k. I’m going back for my routine cleaning in February. Not a shill but I can vouch for the place being rated 5 stars.

According to SPGF Business Journal it was financed.
it was a 15 Mil construction cost that was financed. I cannot remember **who** (because even I was like WTF for an office THAT big WAY out there) but someone local took that note)

And I whole heartedly disagree with your last statement. Insurance may be treating it that way, but the practitioners certainly aren't.
or at least aren't trying to easily.
