Nooooooooooooooo. The only Twin Peaks I’m interested in is the one that David Lynch directed

First time I ever heard of or saw one of these was in Oklahoma City on a nonstop LA to Springfield drive. My co-pilot and I were delirious from the all-night drive and were looking for somewhere decent to stop for breakfast that wasn’t fast-food. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw a sign for a Twin Peaks themed diner in the middle of fucking Oklahoma! Too cool! All of a sudden I was ravenous for hot black coffee and cherry pie. I couldn’t wait to be surrounded by red velvet curtains and cryptic menu items; all while jiving to hypnotic acid jazz music. We pulled in, and as soon as we stepped through the door, I got the joke. Felt pretty silly. The coffee wasn’t bad, and our server was nice in the way she said we weren’t the usual clientele she was used to.

Wouldn’t that have been a dream?! Lmao all I want is the diner or a black jack themed jazz diner covered in velvet (cryptic menu items necessary).

Damn I was getting really excited for an actual Twin Peaks style thing, I also didn't realize what the joke was until I read the report and it mentioned crop tops. That's too bad.

And that one was… not good

The other thing is.. I get the pun but how are they gonna name a racy restaurant after a fictional place where the hidden crime was sex trafficking lmao

Ah, Springfield. Becoming Texas, Jr. right before our very eyes.

There are a million texans here after all. But don't let the secret get out. If you want to spot them just look for their "toll" stickers located on the front windshield.

But Californians are making the rents higher.

Gross. Hooters is bad enough with it's terrible food and creepy atmosphere, we don't need another.

Maxwyfe t1_iz5758y wrote

So it's another Hooters?

Cold417 t1_iz6hwk4 wrote

Pretty much. I ate at the one in OKC on a road trip and wasn't expecting what I walked in to. I guess it's all in the name...

Ah yes a new chain. Precisely what Springfield needs

Edit: Oh it's a tits restaurant. I love a good pair of any shape and size but I do not understand this kind of thing. The waitresses don't give a shit who you are and wouldn't bat an eye if after you left you were struck by a bolt of lightning and killed in the parking lot. In short- I don't know why you would go to any restaurant where the focus isn't the food. If I'm going to spend $50-100 going out to an expensive restaurant I want the food to be good and I want the waiter/waitress to leave me alone as much as possible

i_wish_i_had_ur_name t1_iz85as6 wrote

unfortunately that’s not really “expensive restaurant” prices anymore and going “sports bar” rate.

NightMarily t1_iz6wy9b wrote

Oh...I thought it was a restaurant based on the show. :c

I worked at a golf course in Olathe, KS while home from Drury for a couple summers. One year the crew wanted to get lunch at Twin Peaks and so I joined them. I didn't know what it was until I sat down at the table. I nearly cringed myself to death just having to be there

I am so far from a woke person but really how are these types of places still around, let alone expanding?

AugustOfChaos t1_iz5xju7 wrote

I moved to Myrtle Beach earlier this year. There’s a girl working at the golf course a friend of ours runs and she said they treat their girls like complete shit. As good as their taps and food are, it’s not worth it knowing how crap of a company they are.

Wow, after reading the comments I can't wait to avoid this place.

I saw the whataburger on the way to Sparta today. Idk what twin peaks is tho

Why on earth would anyone downvote this? These kiddos...

It's like Hooters, but maybe even a little skimpier clothing.

Was the Whataburger open yet? They're still working on the one on N. Glenstone.

GinWithJennifer t1_izd3v91 wrote

No but it's getting close. Everytime I drive by it looks more and more ready to be open. I can't imagine what's left at this point. I'm from texas/Oklahoma. The former lack of a whataburger is a serious crime 🧐

I've heard some people complain "But it's unhealthy"

When people go to WBae they go to get a delicious sandwich that will give them hyperlipidemia. Nobody eats WBae thinking it's healthy. You're going to get a sandwich or burger dripping in cheese and sauce that too big to bite into. When you get to WBae you pray to God for him to look away before you demolish the most delicious fast food ever created. Youve had less than healthy comfort munchies like KFC or Taco bell. But if you've never had WBae's sandwich burger melt supremo-matics glory food you don't yet know how good that bad can be 😤😤😤

But I'm really really excited. I hope they still have my favorite sandwich on the menu 😱
