Actually? Imo, Not really. I’ll bet the 20 hour course better prepares you for subbing than 60 credit hours in college.
I say that as a certified teacher, administrator, and former sub. There probably should be some regulation not allowing someone without a formal education to be a long term sub, but filling in day to day and following instructions left by the teacher? Not too bad. What subs really need more of is classroom management training and they receive that through the course, but not through their collegiate education.

The rule was 60 credit hours of college. Now the rule is 60 credit hours OR take this class and pass a test to be a certified sub by DESE
