Hello all!

Trying to find a new primary care doctor. After being with mine for 10+ years he’s gotten impossible to get ahold of and also to make an appointment with.

I need a doctor I can actually see that doesn’t refer us to the minute clinic when we are sick. One that if I need a prescription refill it’s not going to take me a week to hear back.

Does your insurance limit where you can see a doctor? Through Cox I see Dr. Durfey and she is amazing and gets back to me quickly. She books out pretty far but I’m usually able to fit in with either her or the nurse practitioner if needing in quickly. Also can message her on the portal app and can get refills and questions answered within a day or so.

I use Dr Steven Newbold at Steeplechase. He is incredible. Dr Durfey that was recommended is also very good.

If your insurance goes through Cox, I really like Dr. Krenn. He's been nothing but supportive and to the point with me. He's honest with me when something is out of his depth but he'll really go to bat for me when I need it. I've been seeing him for 5 years. I have ADHD and he's very understanding of that. He helps me get to what I'm trying to say quickly. I feel like Dr. Krenn is patient and intuitive. Also if you're on the heavier side, unless it's directly affecting your health, your weight won't be a primary focus. I mention this because I know fat phobia is rampant in the medical community. I have weighed the same weight since I was 12 despite doing every reasonable thing to lose weight. He's the first PCP to actually understand that I'm not just lazy. I'm kinda rambling, sorry about that! I just really like Dr. Krenn and respect him as a doctor.
