Hey guys. My brother in law is at the edge of homelessness with a new infant. I'm attempting to help him re-home his incredibly sweet dog. She's great with kids, has a timid demeanor. She has been acclimated to other dogs, usually a bit shy but is friendly with other animals otherwise. I know most of the shelters are full, my worry is that she will end up in a shelter if we can't find her a home. I know it's unlikely especially at this time of year. We will be doing a $50 rehoming fee.

This looks like it might be a lost/found animal post because it contains the word dog. Please consider posting lost and found pet to Leigh's Lost and Found. Thanks for helping your brother out with it 💛 Do you have any other details about her, age etc, or know how quickly they need to rehome her for their stability/wellbeing?

Is she up to date on her shots? Is she spayed?

Up to date on all shots except rabies, she is not spayed but both of these things can absolutely be done to prepare her for a new home if needed. There were plans to do both, just haven't had time in the last week.

Hi there! I wanted to hop on here and comment with a resource you may not have heard about here in Springfield, since you mentioned that your brother has a new infant; it's called Isabel's House! I work there! It is a crisis nursery where children ages 0-12 can stay while their parents figure out their crisis. We also have a family advocate who can help find affordable housing and other resources! Just thought I'd put the word out if the baby needs a safe place to sleep, eat, and be loved on during these cold months. Feel free to DM me with any questions!

I very much appreciate it. I've been helping them look for housing. They've been looking for a new place for 5 months solid with no luck. They're not quite homeless yet but sadly it could be any day, these things help a lot. Thanks again.
