My wife and I had our first children 5 months ago... Yep, I meant the plural. We have twin boys. We have been struggling to find part-time care two days a week. By saying struggle, I mean it. Most child care facilities flat out do not offer part time care and instead want you to pay full time regardless. We have interviewed a few nannies and in-home caregivers, but we either did not have confidence in the caregivers or the caregiver could not provide services on the days needed.

In posting this, I am hoping to see if anyone has suggestions for a caregiver/nanny or a daycare that offers true part-time care at a reasonable price.

First, congrats!

We found our part time nanny via a Facebook group (Nanny’s and Baby sitters of Springfield or something of the like). We interviewed quite a few before settling on our nanny and she’s great. She’s an MSU grad student and I’d suggest that route if and only if they have proven experience with kids as young as your boys. Feel free to DM me and I’ll share whatever else I know / can get from my fiancé.

Last time I checked, there are a couple Parent’s Day Out programs that have part-time daycare.

Yes, we know of one. However, they are charging $18 an hour for each child. That is $648 for the two days. We could get a full care day care for $500 a week for both children. It just isn't reasonable. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Peapod Learning Center does part time. I’m unsure if they have any openings but I’ve been very happy with the level of care.
