MSU has gotten weird preachers for years. I don't think there is much you can do except avoid him

Definitely ignore any preachers at MSU. They are intentionally antagonistic and likely have someone video taping for legal recourse if need be.

Pretty sure its the same guy that used to camp out behind the PSU and yell and people going by that they're whores and whatever. I remember him saying, without context, that Kobe Bryant and Mother Teresa are both burning in hell.

The synth had me laughing my ass off when I saw it. Literally just hitting and holding random notes while he preaches. Funny as fuck.

Yeah there have been a few that like to hang out and ruin the nice weather. Not sure why it's still allowed, even the Crew and Chi Alpha kids wanted him gone and would set up near him and offer folks hugs instead.

Filing a complaint to security for antagonistic comments is about all you can do sadly

Reminds me of a meme I saw recently:

Preacher: My religion says I can't do that.

Normal Person: OK.

Preacher: My religion says YOU can't do that.

Normal person: &$#@ you!

Ah yes the village idiot is loose again. He ran out through traffic earlier this week and nearly got struck. It's too bad the car in front of me hit the brakes.

Is MSU not private property? Make a complaint to security or call the cops if you feel threatened by an angry man on campus screaming about his invisible friend.

Edit: when did this sub become pro-Christian dickwads?

Contact the campus police. Isn’t there a certain area that he has to be in, or he has to have special permission?

It's a public university, nothing to be done

It's public property. Unless he's being threatening, he has the right to be there.

Really wish they weren’t allowed to be so loud, especially on test days. Those people have no courtesy.

Preachers have been doing that for years. I’m not sure what their goal is in telling everyone they’re going to hell for existing but I don’t think it increases the size of their congregation.

You mean DJ christ with me? I saw him when taking the bearline home lol. Sadly being a public campus he is allowed to do whatever.

You should have attended in the 90s, they not only preached the gospel but screamed that the gays were going to hell. Hopefully they don’t do that anymore.

Due to some legal guidelines college campuses have to have free speech spaces where anybody can setup without any notice or authorization and the university can't do anything about it unless it's harmful speech.

We all might think that what they're spewing is harmful but the preacher's gaggles of lawyers have won a lot of arguments saying otherwise.

I believe the 3 zones at MSU are the green triangle behind the PSU, the brick bear head mosaic in front of the fountain, and the stage infront of Strong hall.

Man, that’s kind of sad. Yes he was annoying but how many of us are willing to stand up for something they believe in to that extreme. Here in OK, it was like a pop culture item when he showed up on our campuses.

Lol that's normal. As sad as that sounds

I used to troll these guys back in the day before smartphones were really a thing and the cameras in phones looked like you recorded it on potato. Was a preety good time getting them worked up and then just walking off laughing.

my_monkeys_fly t1_iu2wnqx wrote

As long as he is in the "free speech" area, he has a right to be there. Same as any other speaker in that area. Just keep on walking and don't engage

10 years ago, we’d all grab our guitars or whatever and go sing songs about sex as loud as we could nearby—we didn’t encroach on their space or anything, but we managed to disrupt and derail.

Dude yes. Go make beats and record his voice live, mix them into the beats. Hearing his own voi e talking will probably trip him up. Especially if you can find a way to splice then on the fly and make him say things like "I am gay" or something lmao

I graduated MSU 2 years ago and he was around during my freshman year. I used to take selfies with him as he was preaching and send it to my parents’ every Wednesday when he was regularly outside of Plaster Stadium around noon as a little weekly laugh, I called it “wrath of god Wednesday.

I graduated in 2009. During one of my years I remember Brother Jed getting into a debate with the church of the flying Spaghetti monster. Oh what a time to be in college. 🤣🤣🤣

As an ex-catholic, I definitely agree lol. It was just SUCH an odd and controversial thing to say to a bunch of passerby. Also he definitely meant that they were in hell because they were catholic, not for any other transgressions.
