This is the true Midwest dark, cold, wet Autumn I know and love and hate a little.
It’s a time for more coffee and tea, and good books and breaking out an old board game.
So nice! 😊

And the windows are fogged up from the pot of chili on the stove, it's a three day weekend, and you just started a really good book.
I like the coffee and a book but I hate constant rain and particularly a hassle with dogs. Do love fall though so I will enjoy.
A freaking men!
Did we just become best friends?
Right? It’s so cozy until you’ve got to go out in this muck!
Maybe...what kind of beans go in chili?
Very much agree. Perfect fall weather!!
We need it
Mixed. Black and dark red kidney are usually what I use.
I can take or leave the black beans. I use kidney, chili, and pinto beans.
The only unacceptable answer was lima beans.
This is the hate part I’m talking about! Lol sometimes it can be a drag.
That had to be kinda brutal.
Lord knows. The grass is brown.
Yep, but the kind of rain it is is the depressing kind, I prefer when the rain is more aggressive, like large thunderstorms.
I kind of realized earlier how this has been a relatively normal year with the seasons in comparison to the usual. We actually had a spring that lasted longer than a week, we had a summer that barring the freakish heat ways and drought seemed to last the normal time summer does (Instead of summer taking up three seasons), and so far fall has been pretty on track with temperature, rain, and leaves changing color before halloween itself. Im hoping maybe we'll have a Christmas thats cold, not shorts and t-shirt grilling weather like it has been, maybe, just maybe we could get some snow for christmas too... i know its a pipedream
Real chili has no beans 🫘🫘🫘😁😁😁
After having to work in this weather I’ve taken on a greater disdain for it that wasn’t there when I could just experience it as an ambiance in a coffee shop or my home or whatever
Lol, which part of Texas are you from?
I would imagine so.
Lifelong Missourian, just don't like the beans
100% agree
You'll probably get your wish, it's supposed to be a snowy and cold af winter. I love heavy snow but most of Springfield doesn't know how to drive in snow and ice unfortunately so it makes going anywhere a gamble
Lol that's exactly what I put in the chili I just made. There's a tri color can of beans I sometimes use too, not this time though. I'm probably going to get down voted like the guy who says no beans but I don't put meat in my chili anymore. I put fake meat in tonight but sometimes I just add extra veggies, like a bell pepper and an extra can of beans and corn. It's clean.
Oh man, I would kill for a heavy thunderstorm. Hearing the thunder crack through the night sky sends chills down my spine.
They only times i want this is when I can nap at free will and being an only parent of a two year old that will be never. Lol but seriously the on lunch naps at work the last two days were sooooo prime.
Oh God please no. Not yet anyway. I've got a tree outside our house that I am calling around getting quotes on to get cut down. I'm just hoping the really bad stuff hold off a little bit longer! Lol
I had this argument at work. I too hate beans. But people are really serious about beans in chili lol

Agreed. The only thing better imo are the dark snowy days in mid January where there's already 6 inches+ of ice and snow on the ground.
