Not so much. Our lights are timed in a way that you can hit mostly green lights by maintaining the speed limit. Going slower puts you out of the timing and increases the gap between cars. The second part is important because most intersections in this town only know when a car is at the intersection. Put too big of a gap in there and it thinks nobody is going to be crossing the intersection so it changes to red. And you've fucked everyone behind you.

No you're right. We should: make driving as big of a pain in the ass as we can; burn more fuel than we have to; increase everyone's windshield time; etc. You're right!
