That’s terrible news 😔
Traffic is backed up all around that area. Westbound trafficway to chestnut backed up way past the bridge. Avoid if possible
According to some random public comment on Facebook who supposedly witnessed what happened, a motorcyclist was going about 80 down Glenstone and collided with a car pulling out of a parking lot near Chestnut, right on the other side of the bridge.
It’s unfortunate that motorcycles tend to have a stronger appeal to exactly the kind of motorist who should least be driving them.
(I’m speaking in generalities, of course I know many motorcyclists have no desire to hot rod and are super chill and responsible)
No surprise there.
So what are you talking about?
I see motorcycle assholes like that on Glenstone and Battlefield all the time. I was behind three of them yesterday before they weaved away through traffic. I'm glad I haven't had to clean one of them off of my car.
The fact that motorcycles appeal to thrill seekers and risk takers and people who like to Hot rod and show off, exactly the worst kind of people to be driving the least safe and highest mortality rate form of road legal automobile.
Ah, gotcha
It's just a smaller breed of the muscle car assholes that I see/hear on Glenstone and National all the time.
I don't understand the desire to drive your fun vehicle in town when there's all sorts of cool hills and valleys you can kill yourself on mere minutes away outside the city. Even as a mere Prius driver, that's always been infinitely more fun to drive than the main drags of Springfield.
People can't see how special they are out on the highway.
My brother in Christ they’re muscle cars they can’t handle anything more than a 1° curve
That’s what I’m saying!! 10 miles north on Kansas Express way and you turn on any side road and be in BumFuck and do whatever you want.
the motorcyclist was cut off from the truck and slammed into the side of it. the 18 yr old died on impact
I wish we could just be respectful when talking about the dead. Someone just buried their Son and we got assholes on fucking reddit not doing shit talking about ofc he did this and that.

There was a crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle. News reports say the driver of the motorcycle did not survive.
