Looking for work

I'm looking for a part time job that offers health insurance. Salary is flexible; I need health insurance for my wife. My background is in IT security. I have done IT management, systems, helpdesk. I have been recovering from burnout. I just want something to do while I evaluate my life. I live in south springfield and would love a place there. I can do IT but I do not want to take my work home. I am open to almost any kind of tasks, as long as it's not management.

Yeah the equation all changes. If part time either expect to be paid less than a full time counterpart to offset the cost per hour of your health insurance, or just pay for it out of pocket.

Say your premium is $500/mo or whatever. At 40hr/wk that's $2.88/hr additional an employer is compensating. At 30hr/wk that's $3.84/hr. At 20hr/wk that's $5.75 more. At 15hr/wk that's $7.70 more.

Perhaps you could find contract work that is part time. Then in lieu of an employer sponsored plan, try get coverage through the health exchange.

CoxHealth offers health insurance for part time as long as you work at least 40 hours per pay period (which is every 2 weeks). They have lots of jobs that don't involve direct patient care or certification. Health information management would be a department where your computer skills would probably benefit you as well, and it's not specifically IT support since thats handled mainly through a third party called Cerner.

Penmac Staffing may have some IT or office jobs you’d be interested in, and they offer a health insurance plan with no waiting period (it takes like a week to start your plan). They also hire the substitute teachers for SPS and several other local districts. www.penmac.com/benefits

SPS Transportation -- drive the bus $20/hr, ride the bus $15/hr. Part time hours with full time benefits. You can work anything from 10 hrs/week to 50+, overtime is allowed and pays time and a half.

Check out UPS. They’ve got benefits for part-time employees. As does Starbucks.

I’d check with the placement agencies if you have not already. I don’t know what your IT Security knowledge entails, but employers are willing to pay a premium for that space.
